News Eddie Redmayne to Play Stephen Hawking in "Theory of Everything" Tony Award winner Eddie Redmayne (Red) will play Stephen Hawking in the biopic film "Theory of Everything," according to Deadline.com.

Redmayne, who recently starred as the student revolutionary Marius in the movie "Les Misérables," will play the famed physicist who suffers from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. Directed by Academy Award winner James Marsh, the Working Title film will focus on the relationship between Hawking and his wife.

"Theory of Everything" would mark a second collaboration between Redmayne and Working Title partners Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner from "Les Misérables."

Redmayne is currently filming "Jupiter Ascending," directed by Lana and Andy Wachowski, with Channing Tatum and Mila Kunis.
