Ricky Sim's solo comedy show Coming Out to Dead People will make its Off-Broadway debut later this spring at Soho Playhouse.

The piece, which previously enjoyed successful runs in the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and London's Off-West End Soho Theatre, will play NYC's Soho Playhouse May 23 through June 2 before returning to the Edinburgh Fringe for an encore run at Assembly.

Coming Out to Dead People is an autobiographical stand-up comedy show exploring Sims' decision to come out as gay to his terminally ill Chinese-Malaysian immigrant mother.

Directed by Ryan Cunningham, the show combines stand-up and storytelling, all the while exploring the complexity of coming out when it intersects with racial and cultural identity, as well as impending loss, and the questions of grief, family love, and acceptance.
