News Edward Albee in Conversation with Marian Seldes Set for April 17 The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts will present Edward Albee in Conversation with Marian Seldes April 17 in the Bruno Walter Auditorium.

The 6 PM conversation will feature Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Albee chatting with Tony-winning actress Seldes, who has appeared in numerous Albee works over the years.

"The great American playwright," press notes state, "reflects on his 50-year career with one of his leading ladies, the award-winning actress Marian Seldes."

Edward Albee won Best Play Tony Awards for Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? and The Goat or Who Is Sylvia? He was also Tony-nominated for The Ballad of the Sad Café, Tiny Alice, A Delicate Balance and Seascape. Albee is also the recipient of three Pulitzer Prizes, the Gold Medal in Drama from the American Academy and Institute of Arts and Letters, the Kennedy Center Honors and the National Medal of Arts.

Four major Edward Albee productions will be seen in and around New York City in the 2007-08 season, during which the playwright turned 80 (on March 12). The season has been dubbed "The Albee Season" and includes Peter and Jerry at Second Stage; Me, Myself and I at the McCarter Theatre; The Sandbox and The American Dream at the Cherry Lane Theatre; and Occupant at the Signature Theatre Company.

Marian Seldes, most recently on Broadway in Deuce, won her Tony Award for her performance in Edward Albee's A Delicate Balance and was also Tony-nominated for her work in Father's Day, Deathtrap, Ring 'Round the Moon and Dinner at Eight. Her other Main Stem credits include 45 Seconds From Broadway, Ivanov, The Merchant, Equus, Next Time I'll Sing to You, Before You Go, Tiny Alice, The Milk Train Doesn't Stop Here Anymore, A Gift of Time, The Wall, The Chalk Garden, Ondine, The High Ground, The Tower Beyond Tragedy, That Lady, Crime and Punishment and Medea. Admission is free on a first-come, first-served basis.

The Bruno Walter Auditorium is located within The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts at 40 Lincoln Center Plaza.
