News Eisa Davis' New Music-Theatre Work Flowers Are Sleeping Will Debut in NYC in April 2013 Actress and playwright Eisa Davis' new music-theatre work, Flowers Are Sleeping, which was commissioned by Symphony Space, will debut at that Manhattan venue in April 2013.

Performances are scheduled for April 25-27, 2013, at 7:30 PM.

"Trail a Zora Neal Hurston-like character from the heyday of the Harlem Renaissance, through our time, and into the future" in Flowers Are Sleeping, according to Symphony Space.

Davis, who was seen on Broadway in Passing Strange, was featured in the West Coast run of Melissa James Gibson’s This. As a playwright, she was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize in Drama for Bulrusher. She wrote and starred in Angela's Mixtape, and her other plays include Ramp, The History of Light, Paper Armor, Umkovu, Six Minutes, Warriors Don't Cry and the collaborations Active Ingredients and Hip Hop Anansi.
