The live broadcast will be part of a special, invitation-only press event being held at London's May Fair Hotel, which will include a performance from last year's seven-time Olivier Award winner Matilda - the Musical, now running at the West End's Cambridge Theatre and also now in previews at Broadway's Shubert Theatre.
The announcement covers all of the eligible categories for 2013 including the four shortlisted nominees for the BBC Radio 2 Audience Award – the only Olivier Award for long-running shows chosen by the public, which has already enjoyed a record-breaking year with more than 65,000 votes.
The Olivier Awards themselves will take place at the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden April 28, co-hosted by Hugh Bonneville and Sheridan Smith. It will be broadcast live on BBC Radio 2 from 6:30 PM, with a TV highlights package being broadcast on ITV later in the evening.
The full nominations list will be published on Playbill.com March 26. For further details, visit www.olivierawards.com.
