News Elaine Stritch at Liberty Begins San Francisco Run July 15 Elaine Stritch performs her Tony Award-winning Elaine Stritch at Liberty for San Francisco audiences at the Curran Theatre beginning July 15. The stay lasts until July 27.

Stritch most recently put in a stint in Los Angeles at the Ahmanson Theatre in April. In an evening constructed by John Lahr and directed by George C. Wolfe, Stritch delves into stories from her past spanning her entire career. Performing many of the songs she did in past productions, the actress also belts out several tunes, including her signature song "The Ladies Who Lunch."

The production opened at New York City's Public Theater Nov. 7, 2001, before transferring to Broadway's Neil Simon Theatre Feb. 21, 2002. The show went on to win the Tony Award for Best Special Theatrical Event.
