Legendary actress Elaine Stritch will be the guest on the Dec. 23 edition of "Theatre Talk," the popular PBS show devoted to the world of the stage, hosted by Michael Riedel of The New York Post and Susan Haskins.

Stritch began her career in the famous 1952 revival of Pal Joey. She went on to deliver indelible performances in Stephen Sondheim’s Company, William Inge’s Bus Stop, the recent revival of A Delicate Balance and Noel Coward’s Sail Away. She recently reprised her performance in the latter in a concert version at Carnegie Hall.

The notoriously acerbic Stritch talks to Riedel and Haskins about Coward, Sondheim, Ethel Merman and Agnes DeMille.

The show air Dec. 23 at midnight, and will re-air on MetroArts Thirteen, Saturday, at 10 PM (check local Cablevision listings for time and channel); and Friday at 12:30 AM in Boston on WGBH. (Check local listings.)
