Elizabeth Ashley will portray the legendary actress Tallulah Bankhead in Matthew Lombardo's play, which will also feature Neal Huff as sound technician Danny Miller. John Tillinger directs.

The play, according to press notes, is loosely based "on an actual event that took place in the summer of 1965 when a 63-year old Bankhead entered a Los Angeles recording studio in an effort to re-record (or 'loop') one line from the film 'Die, Die My Darling!' The session was only to have lasted a mere five minutes. It instead took well over eight hours."

Elizabeth Ashley, who was last on Broadway in Enchanted April, received a Tony Award for her performance in Take Her, She's Mine. She was also Tony-nominated for her work in Barefoot in the Park and Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, and her other Broadway credits include Gore Vidal's The Best Man, Garden District, Agnes of God, Hide and Seek, Caesar and Cleopatra, Legend, The Skin of Our Teeth and Ring Around the Bathtub.

Neal Huff, who can currently be seen on HBO's "The Wire," appeared on Broadway in Take Me Out, The Lion in Winter and The Tempest. Among his Off-Broadway credits are The Little Dog Laughed, Troilus and Cressida, Occupant, Rude Entertainment, Blue Window, Grief and From Above. On screen Huff has appeared in "Hollywood Ending," "The Shallow End," "Big Daddy," "Happy Accidents," "Backwoods to Brooklyn," "Love Walked In," "The Wedding Banquet" and "Hitting the Ground."

Playwright Matthew Lombardo has also penned Tea at Five, Mother and Child and Guilty Innocence.

Producers who wish to attend the reading should contact Peter Hagan at the Gersh Agency, (212) 634-8115.
