Millor Fernandes' drama To Be reopens on Sept. 5 at The Sesi Theatre in Rio de Janeiro. Camilo Atila directs. This drama tells the story of a woman in her middle 40s, facing life after the end of an unhappy 25-year marriage, trying to live alone, to forget the deceptions, and trying to find out out the dignity and happiness that she lost during this period.
To Be was originally produced in 1977, going on to a four-year run. Part of its success was the presence of Brazilian diva Fernanda Montenegro in the leading role. For the 1997 production, the role will be performed by TV, film and theatre actress Elizabeth Savalla.
Author Millor Fernandes is a famous Brazilian journalist, cartoonist and playwright.
