Oct. 17 is the last Sunday for Sundays Out of Country, the new comedy of manners from Judy Elkan, the creator of last summer's Playstation Levels 1-4. Elkan directs the play, which began peformances Sept. 23 at the Ontological Theatre.
Sundays follows a group of decadent actors assembled together for a cocktail party laced with absinthe. The party is altered completely, however, by the arrival of a young actress who intrudes on the group's planned reading of plays from the end of the last century, including Pinero's The Second Mrs. Tanqueray, Shaw's Candida and Ibsen's When We Dead Awaken.
Arthur Nelson Capone, Matthew, Courney, Emily Donahoe, Timothy Jenkins and Susan Tierney star.
Tickets are $12, $5 on Tuesdays. For reservations, call (212) 533-4650. The Ontological Theatre at St. Mark's Church is located at 131 E. 10th Street at 2nd Avenue.
