After the spoofery of Forbidden Broadway and the romance and thrills of The Mysterious Mr. Love!, the Emelin Theatre of Mamaroneck, NY, will close its summer season with the jokes and storytelling of A Couple of Blaguards. Running July 28-30, the play is a true story based on the experiences of brothers Frank and Malachy McCourt as they grew up in the slums of Limerick, Ireland.

Blaguards features stories of the people of Limerick intermingled with Irish songs and poetry. A Couple of Blaguards served as the inspiration for both Frank's 1997 Pulitzer Prize winning book, "Angela's Ashes" and its sequel, "`Tis," and Malachy's "A Monk Swimming."

The show has played New York, Dublin and Washington DC, sometimes with one or two of its authors in the two-person cast. At the Emelin, Michael Judd and Howard Platt will play the reminiscing siblings.

Tickets ($28) can be purchased by calling (914) 698-0098. The Emelin Theatre is located on Library Lane in Mamaroneck NY.
