The first play from Robert Emmet Lunney follows Nina Dalton, "a forty-something stage-actress/movie-star performing in a new play written by her celebrated novelist husband Brian Bartov," according to Irsh Rep. "Brian, in his early seventies, fights a dual battle against early stage Alzheimer's Disease and the temptation to rewrite Nina's part for a younger woman in the film version of his play. Their world is shaken by the surprise return of Gar Jackson who after 30 years away has finally completed a play of staggering beauty written especially for Nina." Emery (The Maddening Truth, The Women) is joined by Peter Friedman (Ragtime), Steven Goldstein (The Voysey Inheritance), Louisa Krause (Iphigenia 2.0), Larry Pine (Bus Stop) and Jennifer Van Dyck (Orson's Shadow).

Irish Rep's reading series is dedicated to works focusing on the Irish and American experience.

Tickets for the 3 PM reading of For Nina are free. To reserve, call (212) 727-2737.

The Irish Repertory Theatre is located at 132 West 22nd Street.
