Host Neil Patrick Harris led the "61st Annual Primetime Emmy Awards" telecast to a tune of 13.3 million viewers, according to fast national ratings. Though the three-hour accolades were no match for the New York Giants vs. Dallas Cowboys "Sunday Night Football" game, the show did score higher than last year's broadcast (12.34 milion).

The hour-by-hour breakdown follows:

  • 8PM: CBS' "Emmy Awards" (15 million) second to NBC's "Sunday Night Football" (21.2 million)

  • 9PM: CBS' "Emmy Awards" (13.7 million) second to NBC's "Sunday Night Football" (23.2 million)

  • 10PM: CBS' "Emmy Awards" (11.3 million) second to NBC's "Sunday Night Football" (20.6 million)

The primetime game was reportedly the biggest win for Sunday evening since the games moved from Monday night in 2007.
