Emmy Award-winning actress-comedienne Judy Gold will star in God Doesn't Play Rent Here at the Ars Nova.

Gold, who co-wrote the play with Kate Moira Ryan, will begin performances at the Off-Broadway venue Jan. 18, 2006, with an official opening Jan. 25. The limited engagement — directed by Karen Kohlhaas — will play through Feb. 12. God Doesn't Pay Rent Here is, according to press notes, a "comic’s personal journey to find love, laughter and acceptance as a Jewish mother with two kids and a nagging Jewish mother of her own." The production was previously seen at the Montreal Just for Laughs Festival.
