News Enger's In the Air to Open Off-Broadway in October The world premiere of Paul Enger's In the Air will begin previews Off-Broadway at Theatre 315 on Oct. 6.

Directed by Tom Ferriter, the drama will officially open Oct. 9. The cast features Greta Storace as Ellen, Nisis Sturgis as Clara, Preston Dane as Ben and Celia Howard as Mrs. Ames. The limited engagement will play through Nov. 27.

In the Air, according to production notes, is the story of "two sisters and a pioneering aviator who experience first love while confronting the ravages to their community by the Great Flu Epidemic of 1918; individuals whose lives are forever changed by an epidemic which claimed 700,000 American lives and more than 21 million people worldwide before it ran its course without discovery of a cure. The drama explores the epidemic's devastating effects on the young and is a metaphor for the incurable diseases of our own time."

The creative team for In the Air comprises Jeffrey Koger (lighting design) and Guy Sherman/Aural Fixation (sound design).

Presented by Stageplays, In the Air will offer performances Tuesday-Saturday evenings at 8 PM and Sundays at 7 PM with Saturday matinees at 2 PM. Tickets, priced at $45, are available by calling (212) 868-4444 or by visiting www.smarttix.com.
