The real-life stories of women and trans individuals working in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and math are the basis for Engineers Not Found, a new ensemble work from Honest Accomplice Theatre that will debut March 21–24 at the Tank.

Created and directed by Maggie Keenan-Bolger, Kristin Rose Kelly, and Rachel Sullivan, Engineers Not Found takes on issues such as implicit bias, sexual harassment, and gender parity within the STEM workforce, which has long been a male-dominated sphere.

The piece is built from verbatim testimony featured in the docu-musical A Chip on Her Shoulder, taken from engineering and technology students and their mentors at Virginia Western Community College.

The cast will feature Amy Ackerman, Zora Iman Crews, Meggan Dodd, Jing Dong, Leslieann Eccles, Eden Eernissee, Caroline Kittredge Faustine, Catherine Fisher, Jordan Ho, Ashley Lauren Rogers, and Rachel Weekley.

The creative team includes Margaret Baughman (dramaturg), Zeynep Akca (stage manager), Sami Binder (assistant stage manager/props), Teresa Lotz and Naomi Matlow (original music and lyrics), Caroline Kittredge Faustine (sound design), Hannah Cook (set design), Megan Rutherford (costume design), Christian Specht (lighting design), Noah Dalton (assistant lighting design), Amy Ackerman and Margaret Baughman (lobby installation), and Daisy Phillips (producer's assistant).

Honest Accomplice Theatre, founded by Keenan-Bolger and Sullivan, aims to continue the conversation and promote social change by producing theatre that highlights “topics that are often silenced, seen as shameful, or portrayed as one-dimensional, specifically through the lens of the women and trans experience.”
