News English, Taylor, Landry, Curtis and Nolte to Star in The Producers for Ogunquit Playhouse Cory English and Andy Taylor will head the cast of the Ogunquit Playhouse's upcoming production of Mel Brooks' Tony-winning smash The Producers, which is set to begin performances July 16.

English, who starred in the West End and U.K. tour of The Producers, reprises his role as Max Bialystock. Joining English will be Taylor, who performed the role of Leo Bloom in the national tour of the hit musical. The Producers runs through Aug. 9.

The Ogunquit production also features Boston theatre favorite Ryan Landry as Roger De Bris and Ida Leigh Curtis as Ulla – a role she also performed in the show's national tour. Las Vegas Producers veteran Bill Nolte joins the production as Franz.

In addition to a cast of Producers veterans, the Ogunquit staging marks the first regional production of the musical to utilize Robin Wagner's Tony Award-winning sets and William Ivey Long's Tony Award-winning costumes.

Featuring a book by Mel Brooks and Thomas Meehan, with a score by Brooks, The Producers follows a conniving Broadway producer and his neurotic accountant who discover that they could make more money off a flop than a smash hit. However, they get more than they bargained for when their flop, Springtime for Hitler, turns out to be a raging success.
