Cincinnati Ensemble Theatre (ETC) heralds the opening of its fifteenth anniversary with Glimmer, Glimmer and Shine, a new play by Warren Leight (Side Man). Glimmer, Glimmer and Shine premiered at ETC Sept. 13 and will run through Oct. 1.

Leight's story involves twin brothers who are absorbed in their careers as swing era musicians until one of them falls in love and leaves the music business. Although they experienced a period of time when nothing mattered but their music, they come to lead separate lives until the one brother's daughter falls in love with the other's protégé.

The cast for Glimmer, Glimmer and Shine includes Dennis Parlato (ETC's production of David Rabe's A Question of Mercy), Tony Campisi (Broadway production of Larry Shue's The Nerd), Ean Sheehy (who originated the role of "Jordan" in Glimmer, Glimmer and Shine) and Lindsey Marlin (ETC's Whisperings).

Playwright Leight's Side Man was the Tony Award winning Best Play of 1999 and a 1998 Openheimer Award winner. His other credits include Stray Cats and The Loop. He is currently writing the book for the musical based on the Damon Runyon story entitled Big Street, together with Alan Menken (music) and Marion Adler (lyrics).
