News Eric Michael Gillett to Bring Songs From & About the Movies to Feinstein's Cabaret veteran Eric Michael Gillett will present his latest solo act, Widescreen: Songs From & About The Movies, at Feinstein's at Loews Regency Feb. 15-19.

Show times will be 8:30 PM Tuesday-Thursday, with 8 PM and 10 PM shows Friday and Saturday.

Gillett will be accompanied by musical director Jeff Cubeta on piano and Matt Wigton on bass. Cubeta and Don Rebic contributed the arrangements.

According to press notes, "Widescreen is for anyone who has ever stumbled into a darkened movie house to escape the tumult of everyday life. Widescreen uses the silver screen as a jumping-off point, borrowing songs written specifically for motion pictures ('What Are You Doing the Rest of Your Life?,' 'Theme from Valley of the Dolls,' 'Moon River') & marrying them to music from theatre ('If the World Were Like the Movies') & contemporary pop ('Widescreen,' 'Errol Flynn') to explore the world of the movies & the fantasies, illusions & lies that fill our lives."

Gillett has appeared on Broadway in Kiss Me Kate, Sweet Smell of Success and The Frogs, Off-Broadway in Dream a Little Dream, Frankenstein, Encores! Of Thee I SingTime & Again and at New York City Opera in Cinderella, The Pirates of Penzance and Candide. Screen credits include "Law & Order," "Ed," "The Producers," "Maid in Manhattan" and the upcoming film "The Third Testament." Cabaret shows include Cast of Thousands: Gillett Sings Carnelia; Hook, Line & Singer and Hooray for Love – Gillett Sings Arlen.
