Erich Bergen takes his final bow as Dr. Pomatter in Waitress August 12. He made his Broadway debut in the musical at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre, playing a limited engagement since June 5.
No official word yet on who will succeed Bergen in the role.
Bergen previously appeared in the national tour and Las Vegas productions of Jersey Boys, playing Bob Gaudio. He went on to reprise his performance in the 2014 film adaptation. He can currently be seen as Blake Moran on CBS’ Madam Secretary.
The current cast of Waitress features Smash and Scorpion star Katharine McPhee, who plays Jenna through August 19 (Nicolette Robinson will take on the role beginning September 4), as well as Katie Lowes as Dawn, Adam Shapiro as Ogie, NaTasha Yvette Williams as Becky, Ben Thompson as Earl, Benny Elledge as Cal, and Bill Nolte as Joe.
