Classic Arts News Erich Kunzel to Tour Symphonic Star Wars Suite Pops specialist Erich Kunzel has created an evening-length work using John Williams' music from the six Star Wars films and will conduct it on tour starting next month, the Canadian Press reports.
The piece will have its world premiere at Toronto's Roy Thomson Hall on June 28 and 29. The performances will feature the Toronto Symphony and singers from the Mississauga Choral Society. Anthony Daniels, who played the android C-3PO in the films, will narrate.

After Toronto, the event will travel to Cincinnati, Cleveland, Chicagom, Detroit, and Seattle.

George Lucas, creator of the Star Wars saga, and Williams have approved the piece, Kunzel said.

The Star Wars concerts follow the highly successful symphonic work assembled from the scores for the Lord of the Rings films by their composer, Howard Shore. Since its debut in 2003, the Lord of the Rings Symphony has been performed more than 50 times for sell-out crowds around the world.
