Leigh Silverman (Well, In the Wake) will direct the 7:30 PM reading for Red Bull Theater. Karen Hartman authored the adaptation of the Euripides classic, described as "a brutally compelling portrait of woman during war, in an ecstatic contemporary adaptation."
In addition to Parsons (Good People, August: Osage County) and Rubin-Vega (Rent Anna in the Tropics) the cast will include Lucy Devito, Autumn Dornfeld, Mia Katigbak, Sue Jean Kim, Annie McNamara and Keith Randolph Smith.
The presentation will feature music by Aaron Hartman, Elaina Morgan and Alicia Jo Rabins.
Upcoming Red Bull reading include Creditors, written and directed by Doug Wright, with Bill Camp, Kathryn Meisle and Omar Metwally (April 25); Lilian Hellman's Montserrat directed by Ethan McSweeny (May 9); and Wild Oats, directed by Patrick Page and starring Reg Rogers (May 23).
