Clyman's work concerns a young researcher whose latest discovery pits him against science's corridors of power. A significant stride toward a cure for cancer would seem a good thing. But the researcher find his hard work only leads to the need for more grants and funding and compromise upon compromise.

The Secret Order is part of EST's four-year-old "First Light 2002" series, which explores the worlds inhabited by powerful, intelligent but fallible women and men in white lab coats.

The cast includes Liam Craig, Amy Love, James Murtagh and Joel Rooks.

Richards is best known for bringing Stonewall Jackson's House to Off-Broadway. She was nominated for a Drama Desk Award for her work on that drama. More recently, she staged Billy Aronson's Light Years at Playwrights Horizons. She is EST executive producer. Tickets are $30. EST is located at 549 W. 52nd Street. Call (212) 247-4982.
