Marlo Hunter, founder and artistic director of Eating Their Words, will direct a cast that includes Ethan Haberfield (Mary Poppins), Rebecca Lynn Goldfarb ("Godspell cast of 2032"), David Foley, Jr. (Shrek national tour), Caroline Cahill and Adrienne Asterita.

The new musical features a book by Robinson (Byrd's Boy at Primary Stages) with music and lyrics by Eisenberg. Readings will be held July 27 at 4:30 PM and July 28 at 11 AM and 3 PM.

Here's how the work is described: "It's almost Cailin's 10th birthday and the one and only thing she really really wants is a puppy. Unfortunately, her mom and dad aren't so sure she's really responsible enough to take care of one. But with schoolwork to do and classes to go to and a little sister hanging around all the time, how can Cailin prove to her parents she's mature enough for her dream birthday gift? A bright and bouncy, light and giggly, tuneful show for the young and young at heart, My Perfect Pet is kid friendly, puppy approved."

Other members of the creative team include music director Daniel Feyer, stage manager Lauren Wong and general manager Gretchen Margaroli.

My Perfect Pet has teamed up with Rock & Rawhide, a not-for-profit organization that aims to increase adoptions and quality of life for dogs and cats in shelters, and will collect donations of toys and tough chew items at each performance.
