Original cast member Eva Noblezada plays her final performance as Eurydice in Anaïs Mitchell's Tony-winning Hadestown August 13 at the Walter Kerr Theatre.

Noblezada began playing the role in 2018 at London’s National Theatre before transferring with the production to Broadway in 2019. She subsequently received a Tony nomination for her performance. Noblezada was previously Tony-nominated for her work as Kim in the 2017 revival of Miss Saigon.

Noblezada will be succeeded by Solea Pfeiffer (Almost Famous, City Center Evita), who will join the cast August 15.

In an earlier statement, Michell said, “Eva’s Eurydice is/was everything–punk rock, tender, mythic. She seems to throw sparks all over the stage. She can do literally anything (and she will!), and I’m forever grateful she chose to spend so much time in Hadestown. We love you, Eva!”

Added Noblezada, “I could’ve never dreamed of the extent of how much my life would be radically blessed by this epic love song of a show. As heartbreaking as it feels to leave, I am comforted by the gloriously infinite memories this show has given me, and I know I can look back whenever and be serenaded by them. There will always be endless love when I think of all the people who were/are part of the adventure. The casts! Crew members and our creative team. Our producers and company management. Family. And especially the tens of thousands of people who support Hadestown and hold the show in their hearts just like we do. Through all iterations, this show will always be about love and rebirth. Muchas Gracias. Salamat. Thank you all so much. Peace out!”

Directed by Rachel Chavkin, Hadestown currently stars Grammy winner Reeve Carney as Orpheus, Jewelle Blackman as Persephone, Tom Hewitt as Hades, and Tony winner Lillias White as Hermes. They are joined by Amelia Cormack, Lindsey Hailes, and Brit West as the Fates. The chorus of Workers is played by Emily Afton, Malcolm Armwood, Chibueze Ihuoma, Alex Lugo, and Alex Puette. The cast includes swings Brandon Cameron, Yael "YaYa" Reich, Eddie Noel Rodríguez, and Allysa Shorte.

Pop star Betty Who and Tony and Grammy nominee Phillip Boykin will join the cast as Persephone and Hades, respectively, beginning September 5.

Singer-songwriter Anaïs Mitchell’s folk- and jazz-infused musical layers the myth of Orpheus and Eurydice with that of Hades and Persephone, intertwining the actions—and consequences—of gods and mortals. Hadestown originally began as a theatrical concert performed by Mitchell.

The creative team features Tony-winning set designer Rachel Hauck, Tony-nominated costume designer Michael Krass, Tony-winning lighting designer Bradley King, Tony-winning sound designers Nevin Steinberg and Jessica Paz, choreographer David Neumann, and dramaturg Ken Cerniglia. Musical supervision and vocal arrangements are by Liam Robinson, with arrangements and orchestrations by Tony winners Michael Chorney and Todd Sickafoose.
