News Everything Changes: Keala Settle Leaves Cast of Waitress The Tony nominee is the third principal to leave the Tony-nominated musical.

Keala Settle, who created the role of sassy waitress Becky in the Tony-nominated musical Waitress, played her final performance in the show October 19.

She is being replaced by her understudy, Charity Angél Dawson.

Settle, who earned a Tony Award nomination for her performance in the 2013 musical Hands on a Hardbody, is the third principal to depart the show. Kimiko Glenn, who created the role of Dawn, departed July 28, and was replaced by Jenna Ushkowitz (who also played her final performance October 19). Caitlin Houlahan takes over the role October 20. Nick Cordero, who created Earl, left September 22, succeeded by William Popp.
