The celebrated singer will produce, write and star in the series that plans to humorously tackle social issues. The program is aiming for a 2013 debut.
As previously reported, Martin will also become a judge on the Australian version of the singing competition "The Voice." He replaces coach Keith Urban, who departed the program to become a judge on Fox-TV's "American Idol." Martin, who was also seen on Broadway during the original run of Les Miserables, will join returning "Voice" judges Seal, Joel Madden and Delta Goodrem. A launch date for the new season of the Australian "The Voice" has yet to be announced.
The Latin superstar is also writing a family-friendly book, which is due in summer 2013. The actor told AP, "I think it's time to write about things that I've been through with my kids that I'm sure many daddys out there will understand."
