Kie Larsen Maxwell (pronounced "key") was born at 10:54 PM; he weighed in at 7 pounds 15 ounces and measured 20 inches. According to Larsen, "He is a Cancer with a passionate belief in the relevance of theater, an abiding love of jazz, and punctuality issues (he was born 11 days late)."

He is named in honor of the brother Larsen lost last year, Peik (Peik backwards minus the P is Kie). It is to her late brother, his wife and children that she dedicated her recent album of lullabies, "Sing You to Sleep."

"I got pregnant during the process of recording 'Sing You to Sleep,' and my husband Freddie plays on some of the tracks, so in many ways this album is all about family for me," said Larsen. "I've sung lullabies to nieces and nephews and children I've nannied and babysat for, but one of the songs on the album, 'Baby Mine,' was a song I always hoped I could sing to a baby of my own. I sang it to Kie in the womb. Moments after he was born, he was placed on my chest screaming, and I began to sing it to him and he stopped crying. It was easily one of the most special moments of my life."

Larsen is currently on maternity leave from her role as Cynthia Weil in Beautiful and will be returning to that role in the fall. Her CD "Sing You To Sleep" (executive produced by Dan Watt) is available at Yellow Sound Label, Amazon and iTunes.
