PlayBlog EXCLUSIVE: Off-Broadway's Voca People on Opening Night (Video) Voca People, the intergalactic new musical that combines vocal sounds, a capella singing, comedy and the art of beat box, officially opened Off-Broadway at the Westside Theatre July 12.

Here, Ryan Alexander, Mercer Boffey, Laura Dadap, Emily Drennan, Tiago Grade, Chelsey Keding, Jermaine Miles, Christine Paterson, Gavriel Savit and Jonathan Shew, also known as the Voca People, wander the city streets until they find the Westside Theatre where they currently reside.

The Voca People, according to press notes, "believe music is the source of life that brings harmony, joy and refueling. A performance bursts with over 70 well known songs that create vocal 'fireworks' and leave audiences clapping along and snapping their fingers. Voca People is the musical theater event that bridges languages, cultures, and planets."

Voca co-creators Lior Kalfo and Shai Fishman also talk about how they created the musical event and offer a glimpse into the new Off-Broadway production.
