Playbill.com has learned that Prince will play Arlene McNally in the Feb. 5 presentation of the musical, which concerns three couples whose lives are affected in various ways by the prospect of having (or not having) a baby. Kevin Chamberlin directs; additional casting will be announced shortly.
Baby, with a book by Sybile Pearson, played Broadway's Ethel Barrymore Theatre, Nov. 8, 1983-July 1, 1984. The original cast boasted Liz Callaway, Todd Graff, James Congdon, Martin Vidnovic, Beth Fowler and Catherine Cox. The Maltby/Shire score includes such tunes as "At Night She Comes Home to Me," "I Chose Right," "The Story Goes On," "Easier to Love," "Two People in Love," "With You," "I Want It All" and "And What If We Had Loved Like That."
Faith Prince won a Tony Award for her performance as Adelaide in the Broadway revival of Guys and Dolls and starred Off-Broadway in the Lincoln Center production of A Man of No Importance. Her numerous Broadway credits also include Noises Off, Bells Are Ringing, James Joyce's The Dead, Little Me, The King and I, What's Wrong with This Picture?, Nick & Nora and Jerome Robbins' Broadway. Her solo recording, "Leap of Faith," was recorded live at Joe's Pub and is available from DRG Records.

* The series of one-night-only performances will conclude May 14 with It's a Bird, It's a Plane, It's Superman. Stuart Ross will direct Superman, which features a score by Charles Strouse (music) and Lee Adams (lyrics) and a book by David Newman and Robert Benton. The original Broadway production played 19 previews and 129 regular performances at the Alvin Theatre in 1966. The musical, according to press notes, is described thusly: "A reporter is out to uncover his identity, while another girl is trying to steal him away from Lois, and meanwhile, an evil mad scientist is trying to take over the world. What is Superman to do? With a little help from the Citizens of Metropolis, save the world, of course!"
