Guys and Dolls Tony Award winner Faith Prince will headline the New York Pops’ Underground Cabaret September 24 at Feinstein’s/54 Below. New York Pops music director Steve Reineke will host the 5:30 PM event that benefits the PopsEd music programs, which reach more than 5,000 New York City students each year.
In addition to Prince’s performance, the evening includes a pre-concert champagne reception, a music education demonstration led by PopsEd Teaching Artists, and dinner with wine pairings.
Prince won the Tony as Best Leading Actress in a Musical for her performance as Miss Adelaide in the 1992 revival of Guys and Dolls. She has also appeared in 14 Broadway productions including Little Me, James Joyce’s The Dead, Bells Are Ringing, A Catered Affair, Annie, and her most recent credit, Disaster! in 2016.
The production will include Bernstein’s incidental music for Lillian Hellman’s adaptation of The Lark, and Menotti’s The Unicorn, The Gorgon, and The Manticore.
