Tour dates are still be announced, but the production – based on the Oscar-winning film and TV series – will be newly directed and choreographed by Gary Lloyd.
Lloyd is currently represented in the West End by the long-running Thriller – Live. His other West End credits include 20th Century Boy, Flash Mob and The Story of Mark Bolan.
According to press materials, the show is "set at New York's High School for Performing Arts, where a group of young talented hopefuls undertake the journey of their lives. Ambition, triumph, heartbreak and romance conspire to steer them off course, and the pressure is too much for some. But, these kids are determined to live forever."
A previous stage version of Fame - the Musical has enjoyed seven West End runs since premiering in the USA in 1988.
