Sherry Glaser's Family Secrets opens the California State University Fullerton's 1998-99 Footlights series on Oct. 9 at the Performing Arts Center. A one-woman show written and performed by Glaser, Secrets is a view into the lives of three generations in a Jewish American family. Characters include Mort, the weary accountant; Bev, the manic-depressive wife; Sandra, the rebellious teenage daughter; Fern, the aunt who has denounced Judaism for its far too patriarchial nature; and Rose, the 80 year-old grandmother who tries to kill herself by sticking her head in an oven.
Secrets runs for one performance only at 8 PM on Oct. 9. Tickets are $20-$15. Reservations can be made by calling (714) 278-3371.
Other events in the Footlights season include the off-Broadway musical Cowgirls (Jan. 30), Idols of the King, the Arkansas Repertory Theatre's Elvis musical (Mar. 13), and Capitol Steps (May 2). For more information on these events, call (714) 278-3371.
