Production sources indicate Carol Burnett's closing performance in Stephen Sondheim's Putting It Together has sold out. The show is to be taped by the Broadway Television Network (BTN). As reported earlier, this is the second HDTV taping of a Broadway show by the recently launched BTN. The first was Smokey Joe's Cafe.

Broadway Television Network was launched Jan. 18 in New York City at the Sony Wonder Technology Lab's HD Theatre. The Pay Per-View (PPV) network is exclusively dedicated to the "worldwide marketing of Broadway productions." BTN programming will be presented under the umbrella banner, "Live from Broadway, One Night Only."

BTN is run by Kay Kopolvitz, former chairman and CEO of USA Networks; founder and CEO Bruce Brandwen, who was the executive producer of the first PPV presentation from Broadway -- Sophisticated Ladies; creative director for television Don Roy King, who was an Emmy Award winning creative director at CBS and is now BTN's creative director for stage; and the Tony Award-winning theatre veteran, Jerry Zaks.
