News Festen Team of Eldridge and Norris Returns With Market Boy at National May 26 Playwright David Eldridge and director Rufus Norris, the British team behind the London and Broadway productions of Festen, join forces again for Market Boy, which begins performances at the National Theatre on May 27.

The show is described as "a spectacular, savage, gorgeous yarn which brings a market jungle to the vast Olivier stage; a tale about the time Mrs. Thatcher said we should embrace the marketplace; a story about losing your innocence. And your cherry." Unlike Festen, which was adapted from a film, Market Boy is an original work by Eldridge.

Opening is on June 6.

The cast includes Danny Worters as Boy, Claire Rushbrook as Mum, Callum Dixon as Mouse, Paul Anderson as Don, Freddy White as Snooks, Gary McDonald as The Trader and Jade Williams as Girl.

Also in the large cast are Jan Goodman, Ruth Sheen, Jaimi Barbakoff, Owen Oakeshott, Georgina Lamb, Mercedes Grower, Nicola Blackwell, Jemma Walker, Andrew Frame, Branwell Donaghey, John Marquez, Sophie Stanton, Jim Creighton, Paul Moriarty, Jonathan Cullen, Jacob Krichefski,Craig Vye, Stephen Ventura, David Sternberg, Micah Balfour, Ralph Birtwell, Michael Camp, Mike Darnell and Michael Taibi.

The characters have colorful names like The Most Beautiful Woman in Romford, Woman with Huge Feet and Steve the Nutter.
