The filming of the Tony- and Olivier–Award winning musical Kinky Boots will be available for streaming on subscription platform BroadwayHD July 15, following successful screenings at cinemas nationwide in June via Fathom Events
The West End production was captured live in HD at London’s Adelphi Theatre, starring Olivier Award winner Matt Henry as Lola and Killian Donnelly as Charlie.
With a book by four-time Tony Award winner Harvey Fierstein (recently nominated again for Best Revival of a Play for his Torch Song), the musical tells the story of two men grappling with the thought of disappointing their fathers on their way to becoming themselves. Charlie Price must figure out how to keep his father’s shoe factory afloat, when he bumps into Lola, a drag queen whose heels are always snapping off. Enter: kinky boots.
Kinky Boots features a score by Grammy and Tony Award-winning pop star Cyndi Lauper and direction and choreography by two-time Tony Award winner Jerry Mitchell (Legally Blonde, Hairspray).
