News First Annual Midwest New Plays Festival, Chicago, Apr. 29 CHICAGO--It's finally happening. The First Annual Midwest New Plays Festival and Workshop, a Prop Theatre supported by a $75,000 grant from the MacArthur Foundation and a $5,000 subsidy from the Chicago Community Trust, opens April 29 at the Mercury Theater in Chicago's Wrigleyville neighborhood.

CHICAGO--It's finally happening. The First Annual Midwest New Plays Festival and Workshop, a Prop Theatre supported by a $75,000 grant from the MacArthur Foundation and a $5,000 subsidy from the Chicago Community Trust, opens April 29 at the Mercury Theater in Chicago's Wrigleyville neighborhood. Between April 29 and June 16, Prop will present a bounty of new plays in readings and workshops. The featured authors are Elise Thoron, Jeni Mahoney, Kevin Crowley, Nina Bunche Pierce, Daniel Sutherland and Elise Forier. For details and a schedule call 773-486-7767.
