Scott Thomas is currently appearing in the title role of Sophocles' Electra at the Old Vic, running through Dec. 20. Previously, she has been seen in London in Ian Rickson’s productions of The Seagull, Betrayal and Old Times, Jonathan Kent’s production of As You Desire Me and Michael Blakemore’s production of Three Sisters. She subsequently reprised The Seagull at Broadway's Walter Kerr Theatre. Her films include "Sous Ton Emprise," "Une Femme Parfaite," "Nowhere Boy," "Only God Forgives," "Bel Ami," "Salmon Fishing in Yemen," "Easy Virtue," "The Other Boleyn Girl," "Gosford Park," "The Horse Whisperer," "The English Patient," "Mission Impossible," "Angels & Insects" and "Four Weddings and a Funeral."
According to press materials, the play will be presented in a new version. It is again directed by Stephen Daldry, with designs by Bob Crowley, lighting by Rick Fisher, sound by Paul Arditti and music by Paul Englishby. It is produced in the West End by Matthew Byam Shaw for Playful Productions, Robert Fox and Andy Harries.
Further casting is still to be announced.
The Audience received its world premiere in February 2013 at the West End's Gielgud Theatre. It begins performances at Broadway's Schoenfeld Theatre Feb. 17 prior to an official opening March 8, for a run through June 28.
