The Legend of Georgia McBride, Matthew Lopez’s comedy seen Off-Broadway in 2015, began previews April 4 at the Gil Cates Theater at the Geffen Playhouse. The production, directed by Mike Donahue and choreographed by Paul McGill, is scheduled to open April 12 and is set to continue through May 14.
Lopez’s play tells the story of a struggling Elvis impersonator who trades his life of rock and roll for a drag queen’s platform pumps, discovering his true persona.
The production features set design by Donyale Werle, costumes by E.B. Brooks, lighting by Josh Epstein, and sound by Jill BC Du Boff. Jill Gold serves as production stage manager and Julie Renfro as assistant stage manager. Casting is by Phyllis Schuringa, CSA.
