The event is described as part retrospective, part moderated panel and part live performance. The tribute covers every aspect of the production's storied trajectory — from its genesis, to the creation of its award-winning score and book, to the casting process.

Joining Sondheim, Lapine and Tony winner Bernadette Peters (Broadway's original Witch) were Tony winner Joanna Gleason (Baker's Wife), Chip Zien (Baker), Robert Westenberg (Cinderella's Prince), Kim Crosby (Cinderella), Danielle Ferland (Little Red Riding Hood), Ben Wright (Jack) and music director Tedd Firth.

In November 2014, a month before Into the Woods was released on screen, Playbill.com reached out to the original cast. Click here to read exclusive memories and untold stories from Peters, Gleason and more.

The reunion was conceived by Eileen Roberts, who first co-produced it last fall at the Segerstrom Center for the Arts in Costa Mesa, CA. Playbill.com recounted the event here for our readers.

The production was nominated for 10 Tony Awards in 1988, taking home prizes for Best Original Score (Sondheim), Best Book of a Musical (Lapine) and Best Actress in a Musical (Gleason).
