Working with American Theatre Wing chairman Isabelle Stevenson, Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) president Joyce F. Brown is co hosting a invitation-only spring luncheon on May 25 to announce the creation of The Zipprodt Awards for Broadway Costume Design. The awards program is meant to recognize excellence in costume design, but Brown also hopes to initiate interest for her plans with Broadway executives who could be supportive of FIT's expansion efforts.

Named in honor of the late Patricia Zipprodt, an FIT graduate (Class of '53) and Theatre Hall of Fame Inductee, the Zipprodt Awards will be presented for the first time in the spring of 2001.

The May 25 luncheon will be held at Sardi's.
