Florida's Caldwell Theatre Company will wrap up its 1999 season with Donald Margulies' Collected Stories, July 23 - Aug. 15. The play, a 1997 Pulitzer Prize finalist, was revived in July 1998 in an Off-Broadway production starring acting legend, Uta Hagen. The revival was somewhat unusual being that Margulies' play received its New York premiere just a year earlier at the Manhattan Theatre Club. That staging starred Maria Tucci and Debra Messing under the direction of Lisa Peterson.
Collected Stories concerns an aging writer who is befriended and betrayed by her young protege; the drama delves into issues of mentoring and plagiarism.
The Florida production will star long-time Caldwell favorite, Pat Nesbit and will be helmed by artistic director, Michael Hall.
