Broadway's Bandstand, directed and choreographed by Tony Award winner Andy Blankenbuehler (Hamilton), welcomes Joey Pero back to the role of Nick Radel beginning June 30.
Bandstand marks Pero’s Broadway debut after originating the role of the trumpet-playing Nick in the world premiere Paper Mill Playhouse production.
Pero had been scheduled to open the new musical at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre, but in February while walking home from a party at Tommy Tune's house, the actor was struck by a van and fractured his leg in several places.
He assumes the role from Alex Bender, who has played the part since the first preview on Broadway.
