LOS ANGELES -- Broadway/L.A., the company which specializes in bringing Broadway touring companies to L.A., has put together a new 1999 four-show fall season at the Pantages Theatre in Hollywood.

Footloose, adapted from the 1984 hit movie of the same name, will run Aug. 24-Sept 5, directed by Walter Bobbie.

Jekyll & Hyde, first produced as a stage musical in 1990 at Houston's Alley Theatre, will be seen Sept. 7-19. The show has a score by Frank Wildhorn, book and lyrics by Leslie Bricusse.

Defending the Caveman, by Rob Becker, will fill the Oct. 12-24 slot. The show, which first opened in a San Francisco performance space in 1991, is now the longest running solo play in Broadway history, surpassing records set by Lily Tomlin and Jackie Mason.

Fame, the David De Silva, Jose Fernandez, Jacques Levy and Steve Margoshes adaptation of the hit movie, will be seen Nov. 3-Dec. 5. Although not a part of its regular season, Broadway/L.A. recently announced a limited one-week engagement of Sunset Boulevard at the Pantages (Oct. 5-10), starring Petulia Clark.
