Put on your dancing shoes.
Producers of the Broadway musical, Footloose, are holding an open casting call April 24 in New York City for people age 15-25 who can sing and dance. The replacement parts for the Broadway and touring companies of Footloose are ensemble characters who are high school students.
The stage hit, which opened at the Richard Rodgers Theatre in fall 1998, is based on the 1984 movie about a city kid who moves to a small town where dancing is banned.
Sign ups for the audition begin at 8 AM April 24. Auditions begin at 9 AM at the Rodgers, 225 W. 46th Street.
Participants should come dressed to dance in club clothes or "whatever you think best suits your personality," according to the announcement (no heels, please).
