News Footloose's Stacy Francis Among Top 12 Finalists of "The X Factor" Stacy Francis, who starred as Rusty in the Broadway company of Footloose, is among the Top 12 Finalists of the new Fox singing competition, "The X Factor."

After the remaining 17 acts performed, the judges eliminated five acts Oct. 25.

During the two-and-a-half-hour episode, Simon Cowell eliminated both Simone Battle and Tiah Tolliver from the Girls; Paula Abdul eliminated The Brewer Boys from the Groups; Nicole Scherzinger eliminated Dexter Haygood from the Over 30s; and L.A. Reid eliminated Phillip Lomax from the Boys.

The remaining 12 follow: Girls – Melanie Amaro, Rachel Crow and Drew; Boys – Astro, Marcus Canty and Chris Rene; Over 30s – LeRoy Bell, Stacy Francis and Josh Krajcik; Groups – InTENsity, Lakoda Rayne and The Stereo Hogzz.

The 12 finalists will perform live for America's vote Nov. 2; the first live results show will air Nov. 3.

At 15, Stacy Francis, who is now 42, made her Off-Broadway debut in Mama, I Want to Sing and later re-created her role opposite Chaka Kahn in the London production. Broadway audiences have seen Francis' work in Smokey Joe's Cafe, Street Corner Symphony and the aforementioned Footloose. She was also seen in the L.A. Reprise! concert version of Hair.
