News Forbidden Broadway: Special Victims Unit Sets Dec. Opening Date Forbidden Broadway: Special Victims Unit, currently in previews at the Douglas Fairbanks Theatre, has set an official opening date for Dec. 12.

The latest version of Gerard Alessandrini's send-up of theatre fare pokes fun at such Broadway shows as Wicked, Avenue Q, Movin' Out, La Cage aux Folles, Assassins, I Am My Own Wife, The Boy From Oz, Dracula and Bombay Dreams. Previews began at the Off-Broadway theatre Oct. 16.

The company currently includes Ron Bohmer, Jason Mills, Christine Pedi and Jennifer Simard. David Caldwell is featured at the piano.

Forbidden Broadway is created, written and co-directed by Gerard Alessandrini. The creative team also includes Phillip George (co-director), Alvin Colt (costume designer), Megan K. Halpern (set designer) and Marc Janowitz (lighting designer).

Forbidden Broadway SVU offers performances Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday evenings at 8:15 PM, Sundays at 3:30 and 7:30 PM with additional matinees on Saturdays at 4 PM and Wednesdays at 2:30 PM. Tickets, priced $55-$57.50, are available by calling (212) 239-6200.
