Forbidden Broadway, which played its final performance at the Douglas Fairbanks Theatre May 29, will reopen at its new home June 24 starring Ron Bohmer, Jason Mills, Megan Lewis, Jeanne Montano and David Caldwell at the piano. The acclaimed production, penned by Gerard Alessandrini, recently won the 2005 Drama Desk Award for Best Musical Revue. This edition of Forbidden Broadway pokes fun at such Broadway shows as Wicked, Avenue Q, Movin' Out, All Shook Up, Good Vibrations and Mamma Mia!. Created, written and co-directed by Alessandrini, the creative team also includes Phillip George (co-director), Alvin Colt (costume designer), Megan K. Halpern (set designer) and Marc Janowitz (lighting designer).
Forbidden Broadway: SVU will offer performances Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday evenings at 8:15 PM, Sundays at 3:30 and 7:30 PM with additional matinees on Saturdays at 4 PM and Wednesdays at 2:30 PM. Tickets, priced $55-$57.50, are available by calling (212) 239-6200.
