The acclaimed production will play the Arsht Center's Carnival Studio Theater March 21-April 13 with an official opening March 25. The cast will feature Jared Bradshaw, Janet Dickinson, Valerie Fagan and Michael West with David Caldwell on piano.
The Miami engagement is due to a clause in the Off-Broadway production's rental agreement with the 47th Street Theatre, which states that Forbidden Broadway must vacate the venue each spring to make way for the theatre's resident company, The Puerto Rican Traveling Theatre.
Directed by creator Alessandrini and Phillip George, Rude Awakening offers spoofs of Spring Awakening, Curtains, A Chorus Line, Grease, Legally Blonde, Mary Poppins, Company and Grey Gardens, among others. The design team includes Megan Halpern (set), Mark Janowitz (lights) and Alvin Colt (costumes).
Show times will be Tuesday-Friday at 7:30 PM, Saturday at 5 and 8 PM and Sunday at 2 and 5 PM.
