SEATTLE-- Nobel Prize Winner Dario Fo, whose Accidental Death of an Anarchist recently enjoyed a successful run at The Empty Space, is back on the boards in Seattle once again, with Northwest Actor's Studio's upcoming production of Fo's Elizabeth: Almost By Chance A Woman , opening Apr. 24.
The play takes place in the palace of Queen Elizabeth I of England, the day before the aborted rebellion of her former champion and lover, Robert of Essex. Fo's comic allegory shows the Virgin Queen trying desperately to cover up the widening cracks in her royal persona (as well as her face) with the aid of her lady in waiting, personal aesthetician and chief of police, while enduring phantom visitations from the ghost of her headless cousin Mary, Queen of Scots.
The production, directed by Martha Austen features Melissa Munson, Traci Timmons, Andrew Haines, Aaron Allshouse. Michael LoSasso and Jeremy Patterson.
Performances are Fri. and Sat. at 8 PM and Sunday at 7 PM Apr. 24-May 16. The opening gala is $20 per ticket including a catered post-show reception; tickets for he regular run are $10. For reservations call (206) 324-6328.
